The host city of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games is situated in southwestern British Columbia, Canada, and is known as one of the best cities of the world for quality of life. 

Near the port, the historic district of Gastown attracts visitors with its cobblestone streets, restaurants and fancy boutiques. The landmark of this district is, however, a steam clock which plays the Westminster chime every 15 minutes.

Outside the city center, the forests of Stanley Park are a perfect retreat while the Granville Island Public Market offers the whole range of delicacies from British Columbia.
